We humans have many different ways to communicate with each other:
It began with writing letters, followed by fax machines, text messages, WhatsApp, and eventually, video calls!
Long-distance relationships are fine, but nothing compares to a face-to-face meeting!
In Judaism, it’s the same.
Throughout 2,000 years of galut, we had basic ways of connecting to HaShem - going to shul to daven, going to the Beis Medrash to learn, visiting kivrei Tzaddikim like Rav Shayele, Rav Elimelech, or Uman....
But these are still just basic ways to build a kesher with HaShem.
The Torah tells us that there’s actually one place where we can have a true, face-to-face meeting with Him.
That place is the Makom HaMikdash on Har HaBayis.
In fact, between Parshas Re'eh, Shoftim, and Ki Savo, the phrase "Makom Asher Bachur HaShem" is mentioned over 15 times!
Basically, Hashem chose this one place!
It’s here!
We can have a real, personal meeting with Him.
Face-to-face.
In fact, The Master of the Universe is extending to each and every one of us a personal invitation:
Come, meet Me, talk to Me, visit Me, in My place.
Let’s all take Him up on it.
